Growing a Farmer: Impressions 2

Growing a Farmer: Impressions 2

Growing a Farmer’ is at the same time one of the best books that I have ever read, and one of the worst. The funny thing is that I consider it one of the worst because of what made me like it initially: the level of detail. This book is written with a very deep level of detail, which explains every process and activity involved in the book. Going ahead with the reading instead, this feature has become very heavy to bear, making the reading slow and unpleasant.

But I noticed this thing only because I really liked what I was reading. If I were reading something I did not like at all I would not have noticed it. I liked how the main character is not afraid of showing us his mistakes, to let us understand that he learns from them and is grateful to them if he can do what he does. I am a person who is always afraid of doing something wrong, and this book taught me a lot under this point of view. In these present days, we only see people who never fail and do everything perfectly, this books instead shows how you can reach your goals failing multiple times, and even the errors are what made the goal to become real.

There has been no chapter I did not like, maybe the Slaughter one, but because I don’t like the matter described in it. Instead, I loved the second chapter, ‘Growing the farm’. The main character is trying to understand what he wants to do with his life, and once he decided to grow a farm he searches for the right one. I totally got into him because this is what’s happening with me right now, as I am trying to choose a path among all the opportunities that this huge university has to offer. And honestly, I feel myself a little overwhelmed like he does.
