'Growing a farmer': Impressions
‘Growing
a farmer’ : Impressions
So far, I
am enjoying reading Kurt Timmermeister’s book a lot, mainly thanks to two
elements: the level of detail, and the great understandability and clearness of
the author.
The level of details makes everything more interesting,
letting understand why things work in a certain way rather than another and why
the main character made certain decisions. The awesome level of
understandability instead, given by a plain, clear, and simple writing style,
makes the book incredibly more enjoyable to read, expecially for someone who is
not a native English speaker like I am. Often, while reading a book written in
English, I find myself reading a passage two or three times, to understand
everything, or I even search the translations of some weird and non-used words;
with ‘Growing a farmer’ this never
occurred.
On the other hand, there has been one thing that I didn’t
like throughout the reading of the book: the context. Let me explain. I love
this book so far, I think it is one of the best I ever read, capable of giving
us a lot life-lessons in a matter where you would never tink of getting them
from. This is the problem for me: I think everybody should read the book but I am
aware that some people (maybe the most of them) won’t do so because they think
this to be only a simple book about farming, which is absolutely wrong, in my
opinion. So, this more a suggestion, rather than a problem, but it this the
only remark I can make to the Timmermeister till this point.
